People at Arrowhead

"We believe that we have a sacred responsibility to our campers, our parents, and to our Creator to do our very best to help young men navigate the formative years of childhood on the way to becoming outstanding young men."

Steve Reynolds(center): attended The Citadel on a baseball scholarship, lettering for four years and being named the team's MVP his senior year. He was a camper, counselor, teacher and coach, before working as a banker for 18 years. In 1996 he joined Camp Arrowhead as owner/director to dedicate his life to developing young boys into young men. He is married to his high school sweetheart and always-gracious Eva Marie, and has two daughters, Rebecca and Jennifer, both students at UNC.

Steve Baskin(left): an honor graduate from Davidson College and Harvard Business School, left his investment-banking career (Goldman Sachs) to dedicate himself to impacting children's lives through camping. Steve brings his passion and his 23 years of camping experience at five camps to Arrowhead. Steve is blissfully married to wife Susie with two sons (Wiley and Liam) and two daughters (Terrill and Virginia).

Starr Teel(right): has spent his entire life creating fun and adventure in his life and those around him. Forever the Eagle Scout, Starr's education in fun spans the Cordon Blue Culinary School in Paris France, England's Jim Russell Racing School, and Culver Military Summer Naval Academy. Starr has over 30 years of experience with creative camp programming. Married to the incomparable Virginia Beeland Teel and co-owner of The Wrinkled Egg, they have two wonderful daughters Annie Starr and Virginia Frances.

Leadership Staff

We encourage you to learn alittle bit about our senior leadership team.

Counselors

Our staff lies at the heart of everything we do. You should judge a camp by the quality of its counselors. When a child leaves the familiar surroundings of home to go to camp, counselors serve as surrogate parents, older siblings and friends. Arrowhead counselors become true heroes to our campers - and as campers get older (and mom and dad seem less "cool"), these counselors become even more important. That's why we keep such lofty standards for our counselors.

We talk to hundreds of college students each year from campuses across the nation (with some Aussies and Brits tossed in for good measure). Following a rigorous interview and background check, we choose a fraction of our applicants as counselors. After counselors complete an entire seven-day orientation to prepare them for the summer ahead, they are ready, full of enthusiasm and love, to lead your son!
