Jim, I need to know, being a parent and all, is Camp Arrowhead a safe environment for my three boys?

Well Ford,

As I thought you knew, Camp Arrowhead is an extreamly safe environment. Safety is one of the major aspects that we train our staff on; it’s also extensively covered in the American Camping Association Standards. Camp provides all of the necessary safety equipment for the high risk activities. (Kayaking, climbing, horse back riding, mountain biking and who could forget oozala wrestling) As you do know Ford, most of the woodsman requirements have to deal with some safety aspect of that activity.

All of our off camp trips are staffed with at least one WFR. (Wilderness First Responder) Camp itself is staffed with two RN's and a slew of EMT's and WFR's. The nearest Hospital is in Hendersonville, ambulance response time to camp averages around five minutes.

We are also willing to accommodate campers with special needs. We constantly balance our meals for campers with allergies or diabetes.

Not only is camp physically safe, Arrowhead is also very emotionally safe.

Camp Arrowhead was one of the first camps in the region to enact a formal anti-bully policy. Our small, close nit environment allows the staff to truly know the needs of every camper. We encourage self expression in our campers and staff, and we create an atmosphere where it runs rampant!
