Well everyone, it's official.
Camp Arrowhead, 2004 is OVER!
It was / is a sad day here. All the campers were gone by lunch time and all us staff members (even Adam M) worked our hardest to get camp shut down for the winter.
Right now it is 4:30 and all I want to do is ring a free swim bell.
But instead I yelled at Adam M to clean Pimpfoot, I mean Mackfoot, wait wait, BLACKFOOT cabins.
Oh well. Camp is over and so begins the 9 month planning process for the summer of 2005. From what I hear, your not gonna wanna miss it!
I hope that you all keep in touch and we will talk again soon.
So long for now.
....Take me home, down county roads.... _________________

Now its the day after the last day of camp and all is soooo very quiet at camp. Infact, it is so quiet I heard a pleathora of animals when I woke up this morning. The cool air is starting to set in and a crisp fog has just lifted. I think I'll be waking up at 7.15 for the next week, even without the bell.....bloody routine. Well I'm packing now for our amazing road trip making sure I dont forget important things like, toothbrush, towel, hairbrush, oh wait, don't need that anymore.
I'll let you know how it all goes and take a mirriad of pictures. Look out Central America, HERE WE COME. _________________ Life is all about having fun. |

well guys I was sad to see it go. It was an awesome year probably one of the best. We all had a great time, learned a lot, and did a whole lot more than we thought.
It was creepy wakin up at camp the next couple of days after camp was over. It is a strange place when its quiet. But, as I was walking around trying to cope with a summer's worth of fatigue catching up with me all at once, I started to wonder. I wondered about all of us, about all the changes that we undergo at camp and how easily we can slip back into our old habits, about how easily it becomes to sit on the couch or how quickly three real meals a day turns into two meals and a ton of junk. I know I sound like I am preaching; it's because I kind of am. But, the only reason this is the case is some of the other changes undone are the ones that really should remain.
Camp breeds a positive outlook, how else could 65 people manage to not kill each other after more rain than Noah could imagine. Self reliance comes with being at camp but can go when being at home. And, self confidence does not always stick around in the less than light hearted banter of school. It's these three qualities that I saw grow in everybody at camp, and it's these that can be the easiest to loose. Please don't.
Remember guys: Make your own decisions, clean up the mess you make, and improvisation is the key to success.
