Off-Season Opportunities
Winter, spring and fall can be quiet times at Arrowhead, but they don’t have to be. We’re developing off-season programming that will build on the traditions of camp, both on and off site. Please call Matt at 828.692.1123 or email to matt@camparrowhead.org to explore any of the options below. Click here to see photos and a map of our campus. We'd love to host your next event.
Church and community outings: We can custom design programs for your church or community group. Our facilities include: lake, rivers, trails, basketball court, open fields, paintball fields, climbing wall, high/low challenge course, large dining/meeting hall and cabins. Use our facilities for your personal use or we can create a program that fits your objectives. We can utilize our campus or venture to outlying Western North Carolina areas.
Service/Adventure trips: These trips place participants in diverse areas to engage in community service projects and experiential learning. Participants perform projects and learn about the issues surrounding the project and the community. We will also visit nearby areas to enjoy some fun and adventure on days off. Examples of projects include: building or repairing houses or schools, cleaning areas after devastating storms, mentoring and tutoring students and working with the elderly.
Company events: Companies can utilize our facilities for company outings and picnics, overnight lodging and program development. Our programs include leadership development/experiential education, climbing wall, adventure outings and paintball.
Leadership development: Develop skills that will enhance confidence and leadership abilities. This is achieved by developing a sense of trust and cooperation; broadening communication skills and developing leadership, decision-making and problem solving skills. This is achieved through teambuilding and experiential learning while utilizing our high and low challenge course and initiatives.
Fall/Spring break trips: Alternative outdoor adventure spring break options for school-aged youth. We offer day and overnight programs that include: rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, archery and other outdoor adventures.
Educational partnerships: Educational trips and activities that are programmed to augment classroom curriculum. We will provide a learning environment that is not bound by school walls. This utilizes outdoor resources to aid in the development of leadership and community. Students will be involved in activities that will challenge them physically and mentally, along with pushing one’s own limits and expectations.
Camp Adventure Races: We are surrounded by 100’s of acres of varied camp property with lakes, rivers, peaks and valleys. Utilizing these features we can offer the excitement of mountain biking, paddling, trail running and orienteering in the thick North Carolina rhododendron jungle.
Paintball scenarios/tournaments: Our recently developed speedball, woodball and over 100 acres of varied terrain offers the perfect setting for tournaments, themed scenario play, group and company outings. We offer paintball marker rentals and air fill stations.
